FUND VIEW-China and Hong Kong best Asia bets
Global stock investors should be overweight China and Hong Kong in their portfolios, because the Chinese economy is likely to keep growing at or near double-digit rates, a fund manager at New Star Asset Management said on Monday.
But investors should be underweight the technology-heavy markets of Taiwan and South Korea, because of the risk a slowing U.S. economy will slash the profits of low margin exporters, added Jorry Noeddekaer.
Our biggest overweight right now is definitely Hong Kong and China. We more or less add these two names together, he told Reuters in an interview.

ASIA FUND VIEW: ING Real Estate To Launch China Funds
Looking to further tap into Chinas property market boom, ING Real Estate Investment Management is planning to launch two real estate funds in China in the next two years.
ING Real Estate, a unit of ING Group N.V. (ING), is currently raising $200 million to $250 million for its China Opportunity Fund, Senior Director Richard Van Den Berg told Dow Jones Newswires. He expects the fund to complete its initial fund raising in June, with the main investors comprising institutions from the U.S., Europe and Asia.

SABMiller Plc. (SAB.L: Quote, Profile, Research) expects its beer sales in China to grow by double-digit percentages in coming years, as it clamps the brakes on a recent acquisition spree to focus on its existing business.
London-based SABMiller -- purveyors of Miller Lite, Peroni and Castle -- operates in China via a 49 percent owned venture called China Resources Snow Breweries Ltd., which runs 41 breweries across the country.

Hong Leong Asia sells metal container business for S$54.2m
Hong Leong Asia is selling off its metal container business in China for S$54.2 million.
The sum includes the disposal of its equity interests in Rex Metal Packaging in Malaysia and Qingdao Rex Packaging.
Hong Leong Asia expects a gain of S$5.5 million from the divestment.
It says the sale represents an opportunity to exit from the business and focus its resources on other opportunities which have better growth prospects.
It plans to use the proceeds to fund the expansion plans of its green-pallet business in GPac Technology.

Alcoa, SMW Automotive enter casting pact in Asia
Alcoa Inc. (AA.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Wednesday it agreed with SMW Automotive Hong Kong to form an alliance to produce cast aluminum chassis and suspension components and modules for the automotive industry in China, South Korea, Japan and the Asia Pacific region.
SMW Automotive Hong Kong is a subsidiary of Concord International, a privately held supplier of chassis, brake components and systems headquartered in Troy, Michigan, with operations in the United States, Canada, France, Brazil, and China.
