Europe and Asia Distrust Sending Troops to Lebanon

Some European countries seem to be more cautious to decide the number of soldiers for a mission in Lebanon, and are less willing to send troops to that nation to participate in a new conflict.

After 33 days of Israeli bombing by sea, air, and land against Lebanon, with almost 1,200 deaths, mostly civilians, a fragile truce came into force on Monday, supported by the UN Security Council resolution 1701.

France, one of the main driving forces of that controversial resolution, which leaves an open space for Tel Aviv to return to its warlike actions, announced it would just send 200 soldiers, a smaller number than the 2,000 military agents promised at first.
