Asia to Be Overpopulated
Kuala Lumpur, Dec 3 (Prensa Latina) Asia will be one of the most overpopulated regions in the world when its humankind increases tion to 800 million people in the next decade, reported sources of the UN Development Program.
A report by Richard Leete, representative of UNPD in Malaysia, said world population will reach 6.4 billion people this year.
It is expected that more than 7.2 billion people will live on the Earth in the year 2015.
Leete said that Africa will also be on the list of overpopulated regions within the next 10 years and African countries with high population growth rates will be under pressure because of lack of supplies and resources.
He said that population increases will enlarge differences between rich and poor countries and the imbalance in environment, economy and society.
