Hong Kong-listed ICBC (Asia) H1 net up 18 pct on yr on net interest income Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Ltd said its net profit rose 18 pct year-on-year to 559.92 mln hkd on the back of higher net interest income and widening interest margins. Managing director Zhu Qi said net interest income for the period rose 44 pct from a year earlier to 820 mln hkd, due mainly to the widening of the interest margins by 37 basis points to 1.44 pct and an 11pct increase in interest-bearing assets. VSNL Boosts Asia Subsea Capacity With demand for telecom services booming across India and other Asian countries, Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd.
