DHL Expects Double-Digit Revenue Growth In Asia In 06-CEO

Logistics and express delivery company DHL, a unit of Germanys Deutsche Post AG (DPW.XE), expects its Asia-Pacific revenue to continue to grow strongly this year in tandem with the regions economies, a senior executive said Friday.

We expect solid double-digit revenue growth this year (in Asia-Pacific). We expect China growth at 35%-45% and India growth to be a very strong double digit, Scott Price, Chief Executive of DHL Express Asia Pacific, said at the sidelines of the launch of the companys Asia-Pacific Disaster Response Team.

DHLs 40% market share in the region generated a revenue of EUR4.2 billion in 2005.

The company is also investing in the Asia-Pacific region, and looking at acquisitions, as rocketing global trade with countries such as China and India drives demand for the transport of courier, express and parcel shipments and as competition grows from rivals FedEx Inc. (FDX) and United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS), Price said.
