2 million doctors needed for Asia, Africa: WHO

The World health Day was observed across the country on Friday and a number of events were organised in Islamabad.

This year’s theme was ‘working together for better health’, stressing greater cooperation among people and the authorities for promoting health. A number of events were organised to mark the day including seminars, discussion programmes and walks.

The Health Ministry had put a number of banners on display along major roads in Islamabad displaying warnings against diseases such as tuberculosis, AIDS, cancer and hepatitis.

The Federal Government Services Hospital (FGSH) had set up a stall outside the hospital to provide free medical advise to people about various diseases, basic healthcare and preventive measures. The stall also featured one-desk clinics for conducting various tests for checking diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
