IAF heads to become superpower in Asia

After operationalising mid-Air refuellers, Indian Air Force is now conducting research on enhancing physical sustainability of fighter aircrew into extended intercontinental flying.

“We are conducting various research on enhancing the sustainability of our fighter pilots so that, if required they can go on intercontinental missions, undertake certain activities and come back,” Chief Researcher at Institute of Aerospace Medicine, Group Captain V N Jha said.

The Chief of the Bangalore-based institute said Indian Air Force would have to enhance the flying capabilities of its fighter pilots if it wants to become a super power in Asia.
