South America and Asia energy specialists to advise on Energy City Qatar

Gulf Energy today announced the addition of Henri Philippe Reichstul, a South American energy expert, and Simon Tay, a Harvard Professor and Asian energy expert, to the International Advisory Board to the multi-billion dollar Energy City Qatar (ECQ) project.

Mr. Esam Janahi, Chairman of Gulf Energy said, ‘Mr. Reichstul and Mr. Tay are experts on South America and Asia, both increasingly important energy markets. Cancel deal with Asia Energy Environmental groups at a rally in the city yesterday demanded immediate cancellation of the Phulbari Coal Project contract signed with the Asia Energy Corporation (AEC). Terming the contract against the interest of the country, they said extraction of coal in open-pit system will cause damage to the environment of the whole area and will also hinder the economic activities of the area. Russia to increase oil exports to Asia Russia, world's second largest oil producer, today offered to increase crude oil exports to Asia for ensuring energy security and reduce risks for the region. Speaking at the Asian Oil Ministers Round Table, Russian Industry and Energy Minister Viktor B Khristenko said Russia is prepared to assist in the taks of ensuring energy security and hence reduce risks (by) increasing exports, diversify the commodity structure and increase the volume of higher- processed commodities.
