O2 splits Asia market under two VP-sales

British communications major O2 has shuffled its management team in the Asian region by creating two new positions for vice-president sales.

Chia Eng Keat, who was O2 Asia’s vice-president (sales and distribution) has een appointed vice-president (sales) North Asia & Middle East. In his new role, his mandate will be to oversee O2’s expansion in markets covering greater China, the Indian sub-continent and the Middle East.

In India, O2 is engaged in the business of smart phones with its PDA mobiles. The company has also hired John Featherstone as vice-president (sales) for South-East Asia and Oceania.

In this role, Featherstone will be responsible for the company’s regional distribution strategy in specifically Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Both executives, based in Singapore, report to Mark Billington, chief executive officer, O2, Asia Pacific.
