Jetstar Asia flies into Bangalore
The Singapore-based value for money airliner, Jetstar Asia on Monday flew into the city with Bangalore becoming its second destination.
Launching five flights a week Jetstar Asia is also looking into other cities, within a five hour flying range from Singapore, its Acting CEO Neil Thompson told newsmen here.
A brand new Airbus 320 landed this morning at 0245 hrs and would target corporate travelers, especially from the Small and Medium Enterprises, leisure passengers and the IT sector to enhance its business. Jetstar Asia is already flying into Kolkota with three flights a week.

Budget carrier Tiger Airways said it has asked the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to reject a proposed cooperation between Qantas Airways and newly-merged Singapore-based budget carriers Jetstar Asia and Valuair.
While Tiger Airways in principle does not object to reasonable cooperation between airlines, it has expressed its concerns about a proposed cooperation agreement between Qantas and Jetstar Asia/Valuair, a spokeman for Tiger Airways said.
The proposed agreement would give Qantas effective control of the network, pricing and products of Jetstar Asia/Valuair, he said.

A Christmas Island frigatebird named Lydia recently completed a 26-day journey over 4,000 kilometers -- across Indonesian volcanoes and some of the busiest shipping lanes in Asia -- in search of food for her baby chick.
