(BW) Rock Solid Images Announces Asia Pacific Expansion

Rock Solid Images today announced the opening of an office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to better serve our growing customer base in the Asia Pacific region.

Rock Solid Images will provide a full range of consulting services for reservoir characterization; delivering well-based rock-physics and seismic models, seismic data pre-conditioning, inversion for lithology and fluid prediction and seismic facies modeling. In addition to consulting services, Rock Solid Images will provide support for software products such as iMOSS® and work with clients in both multi-client and proprietary models to build data-bases of well-based petrophysical and geophysical model data. The office is managed by Vinay Vaidya and will be staffed by personnel from Rock Solid Images’ Houston office and local personnel.

Vinay Vaidya stated: “Combined with our Houston, Oslo, and Dubai offices, we have significant experience in the Asia Pacific market and have recently commenced or completed projects for Petronas, Chevron, and other companies in the region.”

Asia-Pacific air travel off to solid start this year Air travel in the Asia-Pacific region is off to a solid start this year, with passenger traffic growing 4.9 percent in the first two months despite high oil prices, an industry group said Friday. The Kuala Lumpur-based Association of Asia Pacific Airlines said its 17 member airlines flew a total 21.246 million passengers in January and February, up from 20,262 million in the same period in 2004. In January, passenger traffic surged 6.4 from a year ago to 11.08 million but growth eased in February to 4.9 percent on-year to 10.166 million.
