Omnicom bullish on Asia Pacific region; appoints Dumont as president
Omnicom Group Inc. has appointed Serge Dumont as Omnicom Group Inc senior vice president and Omnicom Asia-Pacific president.
Dumont will report directly to Omnicom Group Inc vice chairman and Omnicom Asia-Pacific chairman and CEO Michael Birkin.
He will help spearhead Omnicom’s strategic expansion in Asia, initially focusing on Greater China.

CIE appoints RM for South Asia; to be based in Delhi
University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) has appointed William Bickerdike as Regional Manager for South Asia.
Willaim, to be based in Delhi, would be responsible for setting up a strong and long-term CIE presence in the country and the region, CIE said in a release today.
He would also handle CIE operations in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh, where he would work on customer service and establish tie-ups with schools, colleges and educational organisations in the region, it added.

Novell says head of Asia-Pacific business resigns
Software company Novell (NOVL.O: Quote, Profile, Research) on Thursday said William Hewitt has resigned his position as president of Novell Asia-Pacific for personal reasons.
The company said his duties will be temporarily assumed by Rhonda ODonnell, the former president of Novell Asia-Pacific who currently serves as non-executive chair for Novell Asia-Pacific.
Hewitt was appointed to the position in March 2006.

O2 splits Asia market under two VP-sales
British communications major O2 has shuffled its management team in the Asian region by creating two new positions for vice-president sales.
Chia Eng Keat, who was O2 Asia’s vice-president (sales and distribution) has een appointed vice-president (sales) North Asia & Middle East. In his new role, his mandate will be to oversee O2’s expansion in markets covering greater China, the Indian sub-continent and the Middle East.
