India ranked eighth in Asia in attracting FDI from MNCs
Among the Asian regions, Tamil Nadu came runner up to Sydney in FDI competition. Tamil Nadu had edged ahead of New South Wales to claim the title ‘Asian region of the future 2005-06′ and taken up first place in the all important category of best FDI potential, the magazine said.
India ranked eighth among the top ten Asian destinations favoured by transcorporationals, with the list headed by Hong Kong.
Hong Kong stood most favoured with 67 per cent, with India managing to be popular among 38 per cent of the top ten transnationals as on 2003. Thailand (36 per cent) and United Arab Emirates (31 per cent) were at the bottom, according to a research by UNCTAD pubished in the latest issue of Foreign Direct Investment.

HCM City ranked third inexpensive city in Asia
HCM City was recently ranked the third cheapest Asian city for ex pats to live in, according to a survey recently conducted by ECA International, a human resource organisation.
HCM City ranked third behind Dhaka, in Bangladesh, and Manila, in the Phillippines, while Ha Noi ranked as the 8th cheapest city for ex pats living in Asia.

German auto major Audi announced the launch of its luxury sedan A4 and sports utility vehicle Q7 at the eighth Auto Expo 2006 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Thursday.
