China puts most investment in Asia

China put 66 percent of its overseas direct investment to other parts of Asia, the Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.

In addition, 42 percent of China’s overseas contracted projects and 54 percent of labor export service are in Asia, according to figures from the ministry.

During the January-November period of this year, China’s investment in North America, Oceania, Africa and Asia grew more than 80 percent, and the volume of China’s contracted projects and labor export service in Africa and Latin America grew more than 60 percent.

During the eleven months, China’s non-financial direct overseas investment totaled 5.65 billion U.S. dollars, while the business volume of overseas contracted projects grew 23.4 percent to 17.86 billion dollars.

During the period, China signed new contracts on labor export service which involved 3.5 billion dollars, an increase of 18.6 percent. By the end of November this year, 560,000 Chinese workers stayed overseas, 29,000 more than the figure at the end of November last year.
